Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check availability?  

    Check your date on our event calendar to see if your desired date is available.  We do not hold any dates until we send an

    agreement to you.

How do we book our event? 

    When you tell us you have made your decision to have your event at Spotswood Manor, we will temporarily block the date for you

    and send you an agreement that the financially responsible party must sign.  A deposit of 50% of your total charges is due with

    the agreement and the remaining balance is due two days before your event date.  We will require that a credit card be put on file

    to secure the balance due, we do not charge until the payment is due, all dates will be in the agreement that you will sign.  All

    payments are non-refundable. There will be a date that the agreement will need to be signed and returned by or your date will be

    unblocked.

 

When can I tour The Manor?    

    To see The Manor, you need to arrange a tour with our staff, and we recommend having our staff accompany you for any serious

    venue shopping so we can try to answer your questions.  You can arrange that by calling 540-212-7607 or email us using the

    contact form on our contact page.  Weekend tours will be based on events that are scheduled.  Most tours will be held during the

    week during peak season.

How many guests can we have? 

    Inside The Manor, there is a capacity limit of ___.  Outside, we recommend no more than ___.

Can I use my own caterer and choose my own vendors?  

    Yes, so long as the primary vendors (caterer, entertainment, and transportation) are insured. 

Do we need an ABC license?  

    No, so long as you do not charge for the alcohol at the event, the event is not open to the public, and all alcohol is purchased from

    a retail source (ABC store, grocery store, etc.).  If your alcohol is being provided by your caterer, they must have an active and valid

    ABC license.

Are there nearby places for other guests to stay?

Parking?  

    We provide on-site parking and valet services during your event.

Are we responsible for clean-up?  

    Yes.  You are responsible for leaving the grounds and your Pavilion as you found them.  If you use a caterer, you can usually pay

    them to do most of your clean-up, if you choose. 

Are pets allowed? 

    No.  However, service dogs are permitted.

Are there any restrictions? 

    Yes, we have a few.  No smoking near The Manor, tents, or pavilions, please dispose of cigarette butts in marked containers. No

    confetti and no real rose petals inside The Manor as they stain.
